Orion High throughput
ORION access points are all powered by high-speed DSL links. The bandwidth varies from 1.5 to 3 Mbps. In theory, wireless technological capacity enables to communicate from 1 to 54 Megabits per second—with very few exceptions. The market is currently dominated by 11 Mbps 802.11b.
ORION’s wireless network is shared the same way as a high-speed cable modem access. The available speed is determined according to the area and the number of users inside the zone.
The distance between the transmitter and your computer can also affect the speed. For most ORION zones, the service will be available at full rate everywhere within the defined zones and sometimes even reach outdoors. Ex: sidewalk cafés.
